Joy School, Sioux City, Iowa The students created pinwheels under the direction of Mrs. Ellsworth our Art specialist, with the collaboration of classroom teachers helping the students write their thoughts and ideas on peace. Our Music Specialist, Mr. Luebke, taught the students a special song just for our event. Mrs. Stansbury our principal addresses the entire school and visitors, which include several local TV stations. My students were so excited about the glorious day and being outside with those beautiful pinwheels spinning for peace. Joy school is proud to be part of Pinwheels for Peace; the pinwheels will be taken to the Sioux City Art Center, downtown Sioux City Iowa for a mass installation. The Art Center expects over 2,400 pinwheels will be displayed. Joy is contributing 106 pinwheels.
